THE COLD FEED

Series I plants include either one or two cold feed bins mounted on the drum frame.  The bins may be split with twin gates to allow proportioning of up to four materials.  Each compartment is constructed from 1/4" (6.35mm) thick steel plate and has a 8' (2.44m) X 10' (3.05m) top opening with an approximate 15 ton (13.5 MT) heaped capacity [based on 100lb/cu.ft. material].   Top lip and bin midsection are heavily reinforced with 3/8" (9.52mm) thick bent steel plate for added strength and durability.  Bin bottoms are designed with tapered openings to minimize bridging and reduce aggregate drag on feeder sides.   Easily adjustable heavy rubber flashing is provided to prevent leakage between bin walls and belt feeder.

Each compartment is equipped with an 18" (457mm) wide x 6' (1.83m) long belt feeder assembly powered by a 2 H.P., helical gear motor through a fully digital AC inverter.  Each belt feeder assembly includes lagged head pulley, self-cleaning tail pulley, 2-ply rated belting, 4" (102mm) diameter, permanently sealed idler rollers on 6" (152mm) centers, belt take-up assembly, and adjustable flow depth control gate.  A digital TPH meter for each belt feeder is located in the operator's console.

Series II plants utilize bins mounted on their own separate frame.  As many bins as required by a contractor's mix designs may be included.  Series III plants may incorporate drum frame mounted bins or separate bins.  Built-in bulkheads, integrated scalping screens and built-in adjustable steel plate foundations are available for extreme portability and ease of set up.

 

 

 

THE SURGE SYSTEMS

Once the mix exits the drum mixer, a host of options are available to convey, store, dispense and weigh the product.  The most popular piece of surge equipment on Series I and Series III plants is the drag conveyor and three ton holding hopper.  This unit features a drag conveyor mounted on the drum frame which folds through a telescoping arm assembly for transport.  The drag is fitted with a three ton capacity slug feeder constructed from 1/4" (6.35mm) plate and includes a clam type discharge gate operated by a 4" (102mm) diameter air cylinder.  A high bin indicator is provided to automatically dump the slug feeder.  The drag conveyor on this and all "Compact Series" Surge Systems features 4.04" (103mm) pitch roller chain with alloy steel side bars, carburized bushings, case hardened pins and hardened rollers.  The conveyor bottom and side walls, equal to the depth of the drag flight, are fitted with Hardox-500 liner plates.

Standard stand alone surge silos for the "Compact Series" plants are available in 35, 50, 70, and 100 ton capacities.  All silos include air cylinder operated anti-segregation slug feeders mounted on the silo roof section.  Insulation and cone and gate heat may be provided to increase storage times.  Silos may be provided with weigh batchers or placed over truck scales to provide automatic silo loadout and ticket printing through the use of the plant computer control.  Self-erecting, backweighing, silo and drag conveyor combinations are available in 35, 50, and 70 ton capacities.  All self-erecting silos are circular and enclosed and may be provided insulated and heated.

Bucket elevators featuring unique gravity type take-up and hot oil jacketed boot sections may be provided where space limitations prohibit the use of drag conveyors.  All drag conveyors and elevators may be fitted with air cylinder operated by-pass chutes to eliminate contamination of previously stored mix.
